Blacksmithing: Tool Making
September 12 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm$125.00
In this one-day workshop, students will create the tools needed for blacksmithing. Aspiring smiths will enjoy tackling this at times intimidating–but critical–part of blacksmithing. Students will begin with an introduction to tool steels and basic metallurgy, including practical applications of hardening, tempering, and other heat-treating processes. Students will be guided in making a punch, chisel, and a fixture for bending a hook, and if time permits, a scroll tool.
