Cotton Cord Basket
August 5 @ 9:00 am - August 6 @ 4:00 pm$150.00
This workshop is designed to teach students basket design by learning and creating different basket setups. Students will learn multiple design “setups” to create various woven patterns with the goal of being able to replicate the designs at home. Cotton cord baskets make excellent gifts and have infinite uses. The possibilities are up to you!
Students will start with a wood base with the spokes pre- glued prior to class. The design is woven with three colors of cotton cord and sueded leather accent between the different patterns. The rim is a regular reed rim with cotton cord filler and lasher. Students will have a choice of colors. Techniques include triple twining, completing a row and setting up for next, spiral and stack pattern, and shaping.
The cotton cord basket dimensions are a 3” wood base, 4 ¾”D, 3 ¼”H.
