Saturday, October 15th- Sunday, October 16th
8:00am – 4:00pm
Workshop Overview
In this two-day course, students will learn the process of Forge Welding and apply the technique to create advanced pieces. Students will learn the basics of all forge welds: create and manage a perfect coal fire, properly position one or more bars in it, identify the right heat for a successful weld, administer flux, create a basket weave element, and join bars by hammering. Students will then learn more advanced welding practices and explore opportunities to apply the welded bars in more demanding pieces. Possibilities include a tripod base for a candle holder or fire tool stand or chisel with a tool steel bit.
