Rug Hooking

Pam Bartlett

Saturday, May 21st – Sunday, May 22nd

9:00am – 4:00pm

Workshop Overview

Rug hooking is a traditional New England fiber art that beautifully combines artist expression and function. In this course, students will learn core skills of rug hooking and make a 16” x 16” piece. Designs will utilize a “hit and miss” approach to color. With the skills learned in this course, students would be able to progress to pieces involving more complex designs and color shading in the future. Use your finished piece as a wall hanging, pillow, or chair pad!

The workshop fee includes a kit with a pattern, materials, and a rug hook. Students will be asked to bring a small pair of scissors and a 12” quilting hoop. If students do not have a quilting hoop, one can be pre-ordered from the teacher for $28. Please contact Molly Bolick at molly@sanbornmills.org to pre-order.
