Willow Rib Gathering Basket

In this two day class, open to all levels, students will learn how to make a beautiful and functional willow basket with side handles. We will discuss the basics of rib style willow basketry along with the methods of growing, gathering and processing willow for weaving. We will prepare rims, learn lashing and traditional weaving techniques so that you will have the knowledge to go on and make more baskets on your own. Good hand strength is necessary. If you are able to, please bring a pair of garden shears or secateurs. All workshops run from 9AM- 5PM with an hour for lunch in the middle of the day.
