June 3 – June 4, 2023
9 am to 5 pm
Rug hooking is a traditional New England fiber art that beautifully combines artist expression and function. In this course, students will have the opportunity to learn core skills of rug hooking to create a 16” x 16” hooked design that can be turned into a pillow, chair pad or wall hanging. For students with a bit more skill, they can communicate with Pam to discuss a possible project of their own, that fits into the timeline of the class. Students will have the opportunity to create their own design with a choice of various templates available or their own inspiration using a “hit and miss” approach to color use. With the skills learned in this course, students would be able to progress to pieces involving more complex designs and color shading in the future. The workshop fee includes a kit with a pattern, materials, and a rug hook.
