Students will learn the types, methods, and processes of Traditional Joinery, that is, joining bars without machine processes. Joinery methods include riveting, “collars” (wrapped decorative bands), mortise and tenon, tenon and wedge, and forge welding. Students will learn to cut, shape, then anneal copper and brass sheet-metal to create kitchen utensils or candlesticks.
