Blacksmithing: Numbers and Letters

Beginners and experienced smiths are invited to try their hands on basic and more demanding designs. Beginners will be shown how to taper ends of rounds and square bars and bend them free hand or with fixtures to form “2”s, “3”s, “P”s, “S”s, and any other characters they wish. Experienced makers will be shown and encouraged to try more ambitious designs using flat bars bent on the flat with parts forge welded or joined with rivets. The characters can be drilled for joinery to a bar or bracket or mounted directly to a post or door. All workshops run from 9AM- 5PM with an hour for lunch in the middle of the day.
