Introduction to Woodworking for Women

Workshop Fee: $250.00

The goal of this workshop is to provide a safe space to gain and build confidence in the woodshop!  Over the weekend each student will complete their own mallet and tool tote.  Students will be introduced to safe operation practices and techniques on stationary woodworking machines (table saw, bandsaw, router table, etc.) as well as more commonly available handheld power tools (jigsaw, circular saw, palm router).

The workshop will go over material selection and planning for a simple woodworking & carpentry projects- emphasis will be placed on accessible materials that are available at hardware and home improvement stores. To complete the two small projects, students will also gain hands-on experience with layout and measuring tools, basic hand tools, and drill/drivers.

Materials Fee: $45.00 paid directly to the instructor.

Special Tools or Equipment: No tools are required of workshop attendees; however, students are welcome to bring tools they may already own and want to get some guidance and/or practice using.
