Turning Bowsaw

Taught by: Kevin Schurman

Workshop Fee: $220.00

The wood-framed bowsaw resembles a bow in shape with the blade located where the bowstring would be. Historically, the bowsaw is one of the oldest styles of saws used in ancient China and the Hellenistic period. Its narrow thin blade, with handles that turn in the frame, make it especially useful for cutting curves and fretwork. In this workshop, students will make a turning bowsaw with hand tools. Prior basic woodworking experience is required to participate. All workshops run from 9AM- 5PM with an hour for lunch in the middle of the day.

This workshop is offered in partnership with the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance.

Materials Fee: $50 to be paid at the time of workshop
