Forged Kitchen Knife
In this three day workshop students will forge 6”-8” hidden tang high carbon cooking knives. We will go over the basics of forging, grinding, heat treatment, handle fitting, and polishing. We will also cover the particulars of effective kitchen knife design. The knives will feature polished blades and multi piece handles with a metal or organic bolster and a wooden grip. Prior experience forging and knife making will be very helpful, this is an intermediate beginner class.

Materials Fee: $50 for horn and miscellaneous consumables paid directly to the instructor.
Special Tools or Equipment: Safety glasses, leather work gloves, sketchbook/notebook, ear plugs, non-flammable work clothes (no synthetic materials), closed toed leather shoes/boots, water bottle, any forging tools you may have that you’re comfortable with (hammer, tongs, etc.)
